Head of Data Engineering

As the Head of Data Engineering, your primary responsibility is to enable NORDEN to make the most of our data by building robust and scalable data infrastructure, enabling data-driven decision-making, and driving business innovation and growth.

You will have 7 people, located in Hellerup, reporting directly to you. Besides this, you will be part of a newly established leadership team reporting to the Head of Digital Solutions & Services.

Your core mission?

• To optimise the processes, technologies, and tools used to analyse and interpret raw data supporting NORDEN in making informed business decisions. This involves collecting, storing, and transforming data into meaningful insights that can be used to optimise operations, improve performance, and drive strategic initiatives.
• To support and collaborate with our Market Research department and Analytics teams.

The task that awaits you
Your key task is to foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing initiatives to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality around data engineering. Besides supervising and developing the team, the main topics will be:

• Developing our data strategy including data warehouse roadmap.
• Leading, motivating and developing your team – including hiring new employees.
• Designing, developing, and maintaining our data platform – including reporting tools, and dashboards.
• Developing and implementing new processes and best practices.

Your initial task will be to meet all your internal stakeholders across business units, building relations and understanding their existing setup and data needs for the future.

Who we are looking for
You are an innovative thinker who has a structured and analytical approach toward turning ideas and opportunities into tangible solutions. You approach the given task with a constant understanding of the overall business needs and with a customer-centric mindset.

Apart from this you have:

• A university degree in computer science, mathematics, economics or something similar.
• 4+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience in working with data using SQL and Python.
• Experience with architecture and the inner workings of Data Warehouses or Data Lakehouses.
• Knowledge of working with cloud solutions, ideally Azure.
