Role Purpose
Team management:

  • Provide guidance, training, and supervision to a team of trainee accountants, ensuring their professional development and effective performance.
  • Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor progress to ensure accurate and timely completion of assigned responsibilities.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Be the escalation point for internal and external stakeholders

Financial processes:

  • Prepare and review monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, trial balance and balance sheet.
  • Complete tasks such as accrued and deferred income, software licence reconciliation, accrual and prepayment reconciliation, transfer pricing / intercompany reconciliation.
  • Monitor and reconcile accounts, ensuring accurate recognition and reporting of revenue and costs.
  • Preparation, review and filing of quarterly VAT returns.

Forecasting and modeling

  • Continued development of and maintenance of rolling P&L forecast model.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather inputs and assumptions for the forecast, both for continual improvement and as part of the annual budgeting cycle.

Audit:

  • Coordinate and manage the annual audit process with external auditors.
  • Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for audit purposes.
  • Be responsible for upholding health & safety of yourself and colleagues
  • Comply with all ISO20071 Policies

Essential Skills/Experience

  • 5+ years working in a finance or accounting role.
  • Proficiency in using Excel/Google Sheets for financial analysis, data manipulation and reporting
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of formulas such as sumifs, xlookup, indexmatch.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing people and leading teams.
  • Understanding of global business practices and collaborating with different business units/functions
  • Experience managing internal projects.
  • Previous experience working in an IT Solutions or SaaS business.
  • Experience using CRM (e.g. Salesforce, Hubspot) and Oracle Netsuite.
  • AAT Qualified, Chartered and/or studying towards a professional accountancy qualification.

  • You can lead a team as an empathetic and effective coach, and collaborate effectively with senior management.
  • The ability to understand a problem then plan, test and implement a solution.
  • Able to use technology to make things work more effectively.
  • An effective communicator, able to frequently and effectively work with multiple stakeholders across different functions.
  • Able to work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Organised with the ability to efficiently manage priorities.
  • Affinity with the company core values of Decency, Mastery and Remarkable

Remuneration
£45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience, paid gross per annum.

Location
UK-based hybrid-working with occasional visits to our Southampton office.
