Are you ready to revolutionize the development and manufacturing of the electronic, photonics, and optics industries? Are you passionate about mechatronics or automated manufacturing systems? We are looking for an experienced machine Controls and Automation Engineer, who can help us achieve our goals and support the design and build of our revolutionary products, ranging from desktop form factors to large industrial-size machines.
Join ATLANT 3D on an amazing journey where you'll be part of a team disrupting 60 years of micro and nanofabrication technologies and systems. And we offer a once-in-a-lifetime experience, developing unique solutions that make a difference.
As a Controls and Automation Engineer, you will work on complex electro-opto-mechanical systems or mechatronic machines, and define the overall architecture for machine control and process automation.
You will also:
- Integrate, test, and debug various electrical, electro-optical, and electro-mechanical hardware and software interfaces (e.g. PLC, HMI, digital and analog I/Os, motors, actuators, sensors, valves, cameras, and other devices).
- Write controls and automation software programs, or algorithms, on various systems/platforms (e.g. motion controller, servo motors, actuators, pneumatic controls, machine vision, part handling, part inspection, etc.)
- Prepare, manage, and maintain material specifications for computer, electrical, and electronic-based systems, PLC, and HMI.
- Develop various documentation, including technical analysis, proposals, presentations, reports, requirement specifications, user manuals, programming diagrams, I/O diagrams, controls logic diagrams, and electrical schematics.
To be successful in this role you need:
- A strong engineering background, typically a BSc or MSc degree in automation engineering, with over 5 years of relevant (e.g. mechatronics) experience.
- Experience in the design of electric circuits, automation, and controls for complex electro-mechanical or mechatronic systems.
- PLC software, preferably Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 or Codesys environments, and experience with IEC 61131-3 structured text.
- Experience working with application regulatory and industry standards including ISO, IEC, UL, CE, SEMI, etc.
- Able to use tools such as oscilloscopes, digital volt meters, signal generators/analyzers, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers for product development and systems testing.
- Experience with reading and creating automation instrumentation and electrical drawings.
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of HTML5+JS-based HMI design tools is a benefit.
- Proficiency in computer languages such as C#, Visual C++, and software technologies like OOP, ADO, OLE DB, and ODBC.
- Familiarity with Fieldbus technologies such as EtherCat, Profinet, DeviceNet, OPC UA, Modbus, and FL-net.
- Familiarity with vision standards such as GigE
This combined with an energetic and problem-solving mindset, with a knack for pushing engineering boundaries to drive initiatives forward - and you're up for an opportunity to revolutionize the electronics, photonics, and optics industry!
Join us and make a substantial impact in a dynamic, fast-growing company. We are a diverse, global team in an exceptional work environment. Access continuous growth for both professional and personal development while championing groundbreaking, disruptive technology.
