The Control Engineer for Radiometer is responsible for creating and maintaining the embedded software in Radiometer’s acute care analyzers, working with the design input to control the analyzer hardware and to transform sensor signals into parameter values for acute care diagnostics.

This position is part of the R&D located in Brønshøj, Copenhagen, and will be an on-site position with possibility for partly working from home. At Radiometer, our vision is to improve global healthcare with reliable, fast, and easy patient diagnoses.

You will be a part of the Instrument Sensors team and report to the Senior Manager, Instrument Sensors, responsible for developing and maintaining the instrument sensors and the algorithms to convert the sensor signal to a parameter value that aids the healthcare professional to perform acute care diagnostics. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and maintain firmware to control the analyzer function and to transfer the sensor signal to parameter values for acute care diagnostics
  • Collaborate closely with the software and hardware development teams
  • Develop requirements, create test protocols and conduct verification testing
  • Analyze existing firmware design to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and test algorithms to control the analyzer function related to instrument sensors
  • Perform data analysis, statistical analysis, and data visualization, to aid problem solving and optimization of the instrument sensor hardware

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in electronics, physics, or software engineering
  • Experience in developing, optimizing and analyzing firmware within complex electronic and software systems
  • Experience in working in compliance with Medical Device/In-vitro Diagnostics standards and regulations (IVDR, MDR, CLSI etc.)

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Statistical analysis of medium-large data set
  • Embedded software programming
  • Machine learning, test control algorithms, simulation models in Matlab/Simulink
  • Flair for handling hardware/software interface challenges
