Research Scientist

H. Lundbeck A/S

Research Scientist. Antibody Discovery and Assay Technology

Do you enjoy working in pharmaceutical research and do you have a true interest in immunoassays? Are you skilled in assay development, and want to impact drug discovery programs and contribute to bringing innovative treatments to people living with brain diseases? Then come and join our team at Lundbeck!

Your new role – why is this a great opportunity?

We are seeking an innovative Research Scientist to join our team. You will represent the department in cross-functional research project teams and be responsible for designing and executing high-quality assays that drive our therapeutic antibody-based projects forward. The primary tasks include ligand binding assay development for biomarkers using platforms like Gyrolab, MSD and ELISA with a significant focus on assay quality and performance. Additionally, you’ll perform these assays on preclinical in vivo biosamples including plasma, cerebrospinal fluid, and brain tissue.

As part of our antibody discovery and screening efforts, you’ll be involved in hit identification and subsequent characterization, focusing on functionality assessments (such as binding and cell-based assays). Furthermore, you’ll play a crucial role in improving assay and data workflows, exploring novel immunoassay technologies, and collaborating with Contract Research Organizations (CROs) for outsourced assay development tasks.

Your future team

Our team is an international group of 4 scientists and 4 technicians/research assistants committed to work in antibody discovery and assay development at Lundbeck. We generate and optimize antibodies that target brain diseases as well as develop and perform assays used to evaluate our antibodies and quantify biomarkers in preclinical samples. We collaborate closely with other teams within Lundbeck to accelerate the discovery and development of novel antibody therapeutics. You will be part of an innovative, collaborative, and motivated team committed to making a difference for people living with brain diseases. In our work life, we prioritize to support each other and to have a fun, engaging and positive atmosphere.

The position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

What you bring to the team

You hold a PhD within biochemistry, engineering, immunology or related field and preferably +2 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Hands on experience in development of biomarker assays using ELISA, MSD and Gyrolab technology.
  • Capable of handling and analyzing preclinical in vivo samples, with a focus on reporting of results.
  • Experience with assay qualification (dilution linearity, parallelism, spike recovery).
  • Experience with stable cell lines and/or reporter cell assays.
  • Familiarity with flow cytometry and sorting techniques is advantageous.

You enjoy working in the lab and have a problem-solving attitude. You are a team player and like to work in a team-oriented and multidisciplinary environment.

Our promise to you

Lundbeck offers an inspiring workplace, passionate colleagues and a culture characterized as collaborative – a must to successfully bring our treatments through research and development all the way to commercialization and the people who need them. We offer a mix of exciting tasks and numerous development opportunities that are balanced with initiatives focused on your well-being.
