on an ongoing basis.

Do you have experience working with large datasets? Are you eager to start coding in SQL, VBA, Power BI or Python? And are you a skilled communicator with great stakeholder management skills? If so, this position as a controller might be just the right match for you!

The job

Here’s what the job entails
We are looking for two controllers; one for our German asset portfolio and one for our other asset portfolios. In both roles, you will gain valuable experience in business partnering and asset management from a finance perspective.

Concretely, your responsibilities will include:

  • carry out P&L calculations and monthly closing within your assigned controlling area
  • optimise processes and tools
  • participate in and take responsibility for cross-functional projects

The team

Meet the team
As our new controller, you will join our Finance Tools & Control team, where we act as partners for our trading teams. Our primary task is to calculate P&L for these teams and ensure a correct month-end close. We analyse and report P&L and other financial numbers, working with big datasets using SQL, VBA and Power BI. In the team, we focus on continuously optimising our processes, tools and ways of working, always looking for the optimal solutions. This includes building and optimising our own solutions for result calculations, month-end close and analyses.

You will join a motivated and committed team of 11 specialists within controlling. The team is diverse and international, and we enjoy spending time together; from doing sports to going out for dinner. We have created a welcoming and supportive work environment where everyone feels included – and we always strive to improve by working together as a team.

You will be part of a team with an inspiring and collaborative culture, operating within a complex domain

Jesper Vinter Christensen

Head of Finance
Your qualifications

But enough about us… over to you!
Since you will be cooperating with colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation, we are looking for someone with great stakeholder management skills. In the team, we assist the business with data used for decision-making on a daily basis. For that reason, it is important that you take an analytical, structured and curious approach to data and problem-solving.

We also imagine that you:

  • have a relevant educational background, for instance in Economics or Finance
  • have at least one year of experience from a similar position
  • have experience with SQL, VBA or Power BI (or are curious to learn)
  • are interested in finance and working with data
  • are proficient in English – both written and verbal. Basic speaking and writing skills in German can be an advantage for the German asset portfolio controller, but it is not the tipping point for us

Please note that it is not a requirement to have prior knowledge of the energy industry to enter this role.
