The job:

Fisher Scientific Europe is looking for a new Sr Director, Marketing to lead their Marketing function in Europe. As Sr Director, you will have accountability for ensuring profitable growth, achieved through developing and implementing marketing strategies and tactics that drive growth, efficiency, operational excellence, and a continuously improving presence in the market. We need someone who will closely collaborate with Sales as well as Portfolio Management to align around our commercial goals. Scaling and automating of activities is a key part of the remit.

This is a role for an experienced Marketing leader, with a strong technical background in Digital Marketing and eCommerce, gained in a large international corporate environment.

The role is fully remote (working from home) and can be based anywhere in Europe. Some international travel will be required – up to 30% per annum, including overnight stays.

What will you do?

  • Together with the leadership team, you will set the strategic direction for the division, deploying marketing teams to deliver on these commitments
  • Take accountability for the marketing strategy, with an emphasis on digital marketing and demand generation, running clear metrics to support this deployment. Your team will be responsible for Fisher Scientific, Europe’s product master data
  • Work closely with other divisions in the company, as well as external vendors, to build and deploy effective marketing tactics. They will use the strengths of a large-scale distributor, taking ownership to drive e-commerce initiatives that generate revenue growth.
  • Use strong leadership skills to develop and identify talent to support business growth and lead your team of 5 direct reports (total org size c.80 ppl)

Who we are looking for:

  • A Life Sciences or Computer Sciences qualification preferred, combined with a strong background in marketing in a retail / distribution environment
  • A detailed understanding of marketing tech stacks, experienced in creatively using big data to drive an innovative approach and tactics. Be ready to share examples of how you have used Data Science and Big Data when implementing marketing activity
  • Expertise in e-commerce in a B2B environment, preferably gained through a wealth of career experiences, will position you for success in this role
  • Strong capability in building and driving innovation into organizations, along with the possession of high levels of business and financial savvy
  • Previous management experience gained in an international and matrixed environment, along with well-developed coaching, mentoring and people development skills are required. Validated leadership capabilities, ability to influence, encourage and lead change are also critical skills for the role
  • Advanced level of English
