Our team: StarConnect
In the StarConnect project a Lead is responsible to: identify, prioritize, and execute tasks in the software development life cycle.

  • Executes on the architectural vision
  • High Level Estimation
  • Contributing to Architecture Blueprint
  • Tech Story - Writing
  • Owning Sprint Deliverables
  • Low Level Design
  • Release development + Coding
  • Code reviews and testing
  • Defect Triage
  • Create and Maintain Adequate Documentation
  • Assist in Release planning and Tracking.
  • Tech mentoring / coaching
  • Balance workload among the team members

Data Science team
The Lead is an important “T-Shaped” role demonstrating both depth and breadth across key engineering competencies, e.g. Systems Design and Architecture, Software Development, Testing, DevOps, Security and successfully collaborate with experts from other subject domains especially Data Scientists/Engineers.

Your Day to Day?
Day to day The Lead Engineer in the Data Science team will often:

  • Work with data scientists and engineers to develop end-to-end machine learning solutions, including data pipelines, model training, and deployment via APIs.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholder to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Unblock and enable team members by solving problems and setting directions.
  • Define our team’s technical architecture.
  • Set the standards in our team for Software Engineering best practices.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions, technical discussions, and contribute innovative ideas to drive continuous improvement.
  • Mentor junior team members and actively share knowledge to foster a culture of learning and growth.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in machine learning and software engineering and apply them to improve our products.

What Skills and experience would a Lead Engineer have?

  • Proficiency in Python. Familiarity with libraries and frameworks for both APIs and data processing.
  • Kubernetes and Docker
  • Azure Cloud services and Github actions
  • RESTful APIs
  • Infrastructure as Code
  • PostgreSQL or similar database technology
  • Basic data science and machine learning understanding
