Oticon will join industry leaders in developing and implementing an open source BLE stack for our next-generation hearing aid connectivity IC. We will run this stack on our custom-developed, ultra-low power connectivity IC, which will be developed in parallel. The connectivity IC will enable the hearing instrument to receive audio from a wide range of connected devices, such as smartphones, TVs, etc.
Our task is to:
· Integrate and develop an open source stack, including proprietary audio transports
· Contribute to the definition of the ICs so they best fits our needs
· Optimize power consumption to the extreme
· Deliver boot ROM and support IC verification
We develop code for our highly specialized ICs ranging from HW driver level to the upper layers of a BLE stack. Our tool chain is comprised of a mix of custom and standard state of the art tooling, including nightly and weekly regression testing both in actual hardware and workstation emulation, along with tailored debug features.
In your new position, you will be part of the Chipset Firmware Platform Group consisting of 17 highly skilled and dedicated low-level embedded SW developers. The team is responsible for designing and implementing the lower layers of the embedded SW platform, incl. OS and full protocol stack, used in all of Oticon’s hearing solutions. You will be part of a 9-person well-organized scrum team focusing on the connectivity IC. Besides the daily dialogue with your SW colleagues, you can look forward to interfacing with the rest of the Oticon organization, especially the IC development group.
Experience with low level embedded software development
We expect you to hold a relevant degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering and have experience with development of low-level embedded systems.
We are looking for the following competencies and experience:
· Low-level embedded programming in C
· Experience with real-time constraints, e.g. for audio streaming systems
· Wireless (audio) protocols on link layer level
· Prior experience with a major open source component - preferably as contributor
Should you have experience with Wind River's Rocket kernel, it is an advantage.
