Logistics Sourcing Manager

Your challenge
At our office in Kolding, Denmark, you will join the Global Logistics Sourcing department, responsible for all outsourced logistics agreements across inbound freight, distribution centers, outbound distribution (Parcels/Groupage/FTL) and Air & Sea.

The procurement of logistics services is globalised, and therefore, the Global Logistics Sourcing function is anchored within the VELUX Logistics organization in Kolding, Denmark. You will join a team with 3 Category Managers. Together, you will be contributing to setting and implementing the future sourcing strategy for our logistics service provider portfolio and our logistics set-up with the category of outbound distribution.

Your focus area will be ‘Distribution’ and together with the Category Manager you will cover in total 29 markets that is supplied from 15 different DC’s by 17 different Logistics Service Providers (LSP’s).

The main tasks will be to

• Review and streamline existing supplier contracts to match logistics needs with respect to quality, service, costs and sustainability

• Handle tender and procurement processes, including negotiating and signing contracts with logistics service providers

• Act as a business partner to Market Logistics Managers and Regional Logistics Directors

• Participate in strategic, tactical and cross-functional projects and local initiatives with commercial impact

• Help develop the department’s KPI baseline and long-term strategy for in-house and outsourced logistics

• Manage supplier relationships and drive/support the Supplier Relationship ManagementM system set-up and related processes

• Drive VELUX Sustainability Strategy with LSP data and implement more sustainable distribution solutions

Your qualifications
You have a thorough understanding of supply chain and the logistics industry and experience with negotiating service contracts on either side of the table. Thus, we imagine that you:

• Have 2+ years of experience with logistics procurement, or alternatively, as a logistics manager or customer account manager in a transport/ logistics company

• Possess excellent stakeholder management skills and the interpersonal abilities to drive change in an international organisation

• Ideally you have experience in working with sustainability and CO2e reduction initiatives within transportation

• Communicate effortlessly in English verbally and in writing

• Are able to travel approx. 25 days a year
